At Studio Lumikuu we created a short film for 3Dconnexion. The idea is to promote the new Blender 3D-mouse integration, which was announced at Siggraph 2011.

In preparation for a bigger project, I made a short animation for trying out one of the character rigs. The rig in question is a slightly modified version of the famous Big Buck Bunny rig by the Blender Foundation, which can be downloaded at http://www.bigbuckbunny.org.

I had a few problems importing this rig into Blender 2.5, mainly with a bunch of non-working constraints. It doesn’t work perfectly yet, but I’ll continue to improve it, and hopefully we can release a fully working Blender 2.5 version of the BBB rig soon enough.

ArtFlow now collaborates with Studio Lumikuu, a brand new porduction house endorsing open technologies like Blender and Renderfarm.fi.

This provides us with better means of producing films of larger scope. Interesting times ahead, stay tuned for updates on our progress!
